John Morrison Bio

John first came to the WWE after co-winning the WWE's 2002 'Tough Enough' reality program. For winning he was given a WWE developmental contract and sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling, whom the WWE used at the time to train and develop their future talent. In March of 2004 John appeared on RAW as Johnny Blaze. A couple weeks later he was Johnny Spade. Again, a few weeks later it was changed to Johnny Nitro. After a few months on RAW he was sent back to OVW were he began to be partnered with Joey Mercury and their manager Melina. The team, known as MNM, won the OVW Southern tag team titles there until finally called up to SMACKDOWN in April of 2005. They immediately made an impact on SMACKDOWN by winning the tag team titles three times during their first year. They lost their titles for the final time at 'Judgment Day' 2006 to Paul London and Brian Kendrick as Johnny Nitro and Melina suddenly turned on Joey Mercury. This led to then SMACKDOWN GM Teddy Long firing Nitro and Melina from SMACKDOWN and the two became part of the RAW roster the following week. At RAW he won his first singles competitor belt by capturing the WWE Intercontinental Championship and defending it for four months before losing it to Jeff Hardy on the October 2, 2006 episode of RAW. The following month Nitro got the belt back from Hardy but then lost it back to him the following week. That same month there was a small reunion of MNM as Joey Mercury came back to partner up with Johnny Nitro and Melina to take on an open challenge made by the Hardy Boys. The teams feuded for months with one another until Mercury had an legitimate injury. Nitro then teamed up with Kenny Dykstra until drafted to ECW during the 2007 WWE draft. In June of 2007 he made his ECW debut with a victory and then captured the vacant ECW title with a victory over CM Punk when he was a last second replacement for Chris Benoit. A couple of weeks after winning the title Johnny Nitro's name was changed to John Morrison. CM Punk had several opportunities to try and take John Morrison's ECW title but failed multiple times. Punk finally took Morrison's ECW belt on September 1, 2007. On the November 16, 2007 episode of SMACKDOWN, Morrison and a rival of his, the Miz, teamed up and won the WWE tag team championship belts from Matt Hardy and MVP. At Wrestlemania XXIV John Morrison competed in the 'Money in the Bank' ladder match but was unsuccessful.

In February of 2008 Morrison and the Miz were given their own streaming segment on the official WWE website called 'The Dirt Sheet'. They would usually mock other wrestlers and the show has became very popular.

On June 29, 2008 John Morrison and the Miz defended their tag team titles against the father-son team of Finlay and Hornswoggle at Night of Champions. Morrison and Miz defended their titles on many occasions but their luck would run out on July 20, 2008 at the Great American Bash when they were involved in a four way tag team match with their tag team titles up for grabs. Curt Hawkins pinned Jesse in the match making Zach Ryder and Curt Hawkins the new tag team champions.

After losing the tag titles, Morrison and Miz entered a feud with ECW newcomers Evan Bourne and Ricky Ortiz, who they had previously mocked (and continued to do so) on the Dirt Sheet, as well as an Internet-centered feud with RAW's Cryme Tyme based on which online show was the best (between the Dirt Sheet and Cryme Tyme's "Word Up"). Recently RAW's Jillian Hall has also aligned herself with the tag team.

On October 28, 2008 at Cyber Sunday Morrison and the Miz would battle Cryme Tyme. The match was voted by fans as the tag team match that they wanted to see. Miz and Morrison would get the victory in the match.

At Survivor Series on November 23, 2008 John Morrison and his partner the Miz would be on Team JBL along with JBL, MVP and Kane. They would battle Team HBK which consist of Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Cryme Tyme and the great Khali. Unfortunately, Morrison and his team lost.

On December 13, Morrison and The Miz won the World Tag Team Championship from CM Punk and Kofi Kingston at a Raw house show.

A long fued came abouts between the World Tag Team Champs Miz and Morrison with the WWE Tag Team Champs the Colons. After months and months the two teams met on April 5th, 2009 at Wrtestlemania 25 with both teams putting their titles on the line. Miz and Morrison were not able to pull out the win and lost their World Tag Team Titles as the Colons became the undisputed tag team champs by holding both tag team titles.

As part of the 2009 WWE Draft on April 13, The Miz was drafted to the Raw brand to split up the team, and, as a result, Miz attacked Morrison.

On April 15, 2009, Morrison was drafted to the SmackDown brand as part of the 2009 Supplemental Draft. His first match back for the brand was on April 17, when he defeated R-Truth. Morrison subsequently turned into a fan favorite on the May 1 episode of SmackDown by defeating Shelton Benjamin, and then engaging in a backstage fight with Chris Jericho, after Jericho slapped him.

He started a feud with Shelton Benjamin defeating him and his tag team partner Charlie Haas in numerous tag team matches. The feud eventually led into a match at Judgment Day on May 17, 2009 Pay-Per-View event which Morrison won.

On the July 31, 2009 edition of SmackDown, Morrison had his first ever world championship match against the new World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy. However, he failed to capture the title after Hardy hit a second Swanton Bomb and scored the pinfall. Morrison would later form an alliance with Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy.

On the September 4, 2009 edition of Smackdown John Morrison would battle Rey Mysterio in a match for the Intercontinental championship. John Morrison was able to win after hitting the Starship Pain and getting the pinfall to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
