Jesse Bio

Jesse's real name is Ray Gordy. He is the son on of legendary wrestler Terry Gordy of the Fabulous Freebirds. Before coming to the WWE he worked for NWA Georgia, NOAH in Japan and NAWA. In August 2005, Gordy signed a developmental contract with the WWE and debuted for Deep South Wrestling in early 2006 as Ray Geezy and had a wigger gimmick. He teamed with Damien Steele, who was preppy and well-spoken. In November of 2006, he began teaming with Henry Godwinn at some Smackdown house shows and changed his name to Cousin Ray, dropping his gangsta gimmick to reform The Godwinns with Henry. On the May 11, 2007 edition of SmackDown, a vignette aired with Gordy as Jesse Dalton alongside fellow WWE developmental talent Drew Hankinson as Festus. It was reported on June 2, 2007 that the "Dalton Boys" gimmick was being changed by WWE. The Dalton Boys was their hillbilly gimmick. Jesse and Festus were put in traditional wrestling gear and transformed their gimmick to be a little less country. On the June 29, 2007 edition of SmackDown, vignettes hyping Jesse and Festus return to the roster began to air. Jesse and Festus made their official televised in-ring debut on the October 5, 2007 edition of SmackDown, defeating Mike Tolar and Chad Collyer.

Since then Jesse and his partner Festus have battled some of the top tag team on Smackdown with Jesse being the rational one of the team. On July 20, 2008 Jesse and Festus were involved in a four way tag team title match at the Great American Bash. They were unsuccessful as Jesse was pinned by Curt Hawkins making Ryder and Hawkins the new tag team champions.

Recently Jesse and his partner Festus have developed a gimmick where after Festus faces and opponent they duct tape and bubble wrap their opponent and take them to the back. On the September 27, 2008 edition of Smackdown you could see that Jesse and Festus had their last two opponents from the previous weeks of Smackdown tied up still with the duct tape and bubble wrap in the back of their moving van.

Jesse was separated from Festus when Festus was drafted to the Raw brand in the 2009 Supplemental Draft.
