Batista Bio

Batista first appeared on Smackdown in 2002 He was the bodyguard for Reverend D-Von Dudley. He didn't stay too long on Smackdown though and later during that year he appeared on Monday Night Raw and quickly became good friends with Rick Flair. In January of 2003, on RAW, Evolution was put together which were Batista, Ric Flair, Triple H, and Randy Orton.

Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble and became World Heavyweight Champion when he defeated Triple H at Wrestlemania 22. He then got drafted into Smackdown and with him came the World Heavyweight Championship belt. JBL was not going to let Batista come into Smackdown and think he was the man so JBL feuded alot with him, Batista getting the best of him. Batista teamed up with Eddie Guerrero until the sad loss of Eddie Guerrero's passing. In December of 2005 Batista teamed up with Rey Mysterio and took the Tag-Team titles away from M&M. In January of 2006 Batista gave up his belt explaining to Teddy Long that it was because of a injury. The belt eventually made it's way to King Booker but upon Batista's return he made it clear that he wanted his belt back. In November of 2006 he certainly did get it back by defeating King Booker. Batista ended up losing his title after a long feud with the Undertaker. It was probably one of the best wrestling matches one would ever see but Undertaker came out on top defeating Batista in April, 2007 at Wrestlemania 23 and taking his title. Edge ended up later becoming the champion and then the great Khali. Batista ended up getting the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt back at 'Unforgiven' 2007 as he picked up the victory over Khali in what was a triple threat match between Batista, Khali and Rey Mysterio. Batista ended up losing the title to Edge after Edge came back after many months away from wrestling in a triple threat match between Batista, Undertaker and Edge. Edge used many tricks to pick up the victory ringing the bell to fool the Undertaker and introducing his Edgeheads. Batista went on to compete in the 2008 Royal Rumble but was eliminated. At Wrestlemania XXIV Batista would represent SMACKDOWN in the SMACKDOWN VS RAW match up. Batista was able to get the win for SMACKDOWN over RAWS Umaga. A couple weeks after Wrestlemania Batista approached Shawn Michaels and started a feud with him over the Michaels-Ric Flair match at Wrestlemania that ended the nature boys career. A match was set up for Backlash but Batista lost the match to Shawn Michaels. On June 23, 2008 Batista was sent to Raw from Smackdown during the 2008 WWE draft. On July 20, 2008 Batista battled CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship title. Batista looked like he was about to win the title once again in his career but the match was interrupted by Kane and the match was ruled a double disqualification thus CM Punk held on to his title. On the August 4, 2008 edition of Raw Batista became a World Tag Team Champion for the third time in his career when he and John Cena (who would be his opponent at Summerslam) defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Batista and John Cena would only hold on to those World Tag Team titles for only a week though as on the next edition of Raw they lost to DiBiase and Rhodes.

On August 17, 2008 Batista battled John Cena at Summerslam. Batista was able to get the victory over John Cena.

On September 7, 2008 Batista battled in Raw's scramble match for the World Heavyweight title. Others competing in the match were Rey Mysterio, Kane, JBL and Chris Jericho (who replaced the then champion CM Punk who could not attempt to defend his title after being attacked and injured backstage). Batista was not able to win the match as Chris Jericho ended up being victorious and became the new World Heavyweight Champion that night.

On October 5, 2008 at No Mercy Batista would have a match with JBL. The winner would win the honor of becoming the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Title. Batista was victorious after hitting a Spinebuster and a Batista Bomb.

Batista battled World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho at Cyber Sunday as the fans voted for "Stoned Cold" Steve Austin to be the special guest referee in the match. Batista would go on to beat Jericho and once again become the World Heavyweight Champion. This reign as the World Heavyweight Champion would not last long for Batista though as on the November 3, 2008 segment of Raw; Chris Jericho would take the title back from Batista by winning a steel cage match. Batista only held on to the title for 8 days.

On November 23, 2008 Batista would lead Team Batista against Team Orton at Survivor Series. Batista had CM Punk, Matt Hardy, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston on his team. Randy Orton had Shelton Benjamin, William Regal, Cody Rhodes and Mark Henry on his side. It came down to Batista alone against four members of Team Orton. Batista eliminated two and was going for a third but then Rhodes did a blind tag to Randy Orton. Batista pinned Rhodes but since he wasn't the legal man, Orton was able to sneak up on Batista, hit the RKO and get the win for his team.

On December 14, 2008 at Armageddon Batista battled Randy Orton to see who would become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight title. Despite Manu and Rhodes interferring in the match Batista was able to finish off Orton with a Batista Bomb to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight title which at this time belong to John Cena.

Soon after this match it was announced that Batista had suffered a hamstring tear that will require surgery and that he would be out of action for months. The storyline version to Batista's departure was sold as Batista suffered a concussion to the head after being kicked there by Randy Orton.

Batista returned from his hamstring injury on the April 6, 2009 episode of Raw, to save Triple H, Shane McMahon, and Vince McMahon from The Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody .Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase, Jr). Vince McMahon, then announced that Batista would take his place at Backlash, where he would team up with WWE Champion Triple H, and Shane McMahon, to face The Legacy. During the match, Batista had brought out a chair, but Triple H tried to stop him, so they would not get disqualified. This distraction however, cost Triple H his championship, after he lost it to Orton. On the April 27, 2009 episode of Raw, Batista won the No. 1 Contender's Match against Big Show to determine the No. 1 Contender for the WWE Title against Randy Orton, the man that punted him and placing him in the inactive list for 4 months at Judgment Day.

On May 17, 2009 Batista would challenge Randy Orton for the WWE title at Judgment Day. During the match Orton would try to purposely get counted out and lose the match so that he could retain his title. Batista would not let it happen though and found ways to keep getting Orton back in the ring. Orton finally got his way though when he slapped the referee and got disqualified. Batista won the match but Orton was still the WWE champion.

On June 7, 2009 at Extreme Rules Batista would get another shot at Randy Orton's WWE title. This time tough it would be a Steel Cage match assuring to Batista that Orton would not be able to try and run away and win via DQ. During the match Orton tried to escape several times but Batista would keep pulling Orton back in. Batista ended up hitting the Batista Bomb on Orton and pin him and become the WWE champion.

The next day on Raw while displaying his new belt for the WWE fans, the new WWE Champion Batista would get attacked in the ring by Legacy; Randy Orton, DiBiase and Rhodes. They targeted Batista's left arm and ended up snapping it. Batista ended up on a stretcher and had to be taken by ambulance. Later in the evening Vickie Guerrero announced that Batsta would still have to defend his title that night in a rematch with Orton and if he didn't show up then Orton would win the WWE Championship back. An ambulance ended up pulling up for the match but it was not Batista, it was Triple H. Triple H handled Rhodes and DiBiase and then ended up giving Randy Orton the Pedigree to end the show.

The left arm snap to Batista was kayfabe as Batista needed to have a real life surgery on his left shoulder. It is unknown at this time how long Batista will be out of action.
